The Miami circuit is the only new one in Formula 1 this season. The following May 6, 7, and 8 will be held F1 debuts in Miami.
Although with less advantage than in the previous Imola appointment, Charles Leclerc arrives in the USA as leader of the World Championship, which was frustrating for Ferrari.
Red Bull shortens the distance with the Italian team, and its two drivers have displaced
Carlos Sainz from the top.
The driver standings looks like:
Leclerc 86
Verstappen 59
Perez 54
Russell 49
Sainz 38
norris 35
hamilton 28
boots 24
ocon 20
Magnussen 15
Miami International Autodrome
The home of the Miami Dolphins is where the racing circuit has been temporarily installed.
Grand Prix will consist of 57 laps on the temporary circuit located at the Hard Rock Stadium complex in Miami Gardens.
The track is the culmination of a development process that simulated no fewer than 36 different layouts before settling on a thrilling 19-lap layout that provides a street circuit feel, not unlike Melbourne’s Albert Park.

The Possible Return of Michael Masi as Race Director
The two current race directors, Niels Wittich and Edoardo Freitas, have tested positive
for Covid-19 after the race at Imola, and it is doubtful that they will be able to play their role at the Miami Grand Prix.
Given this situation, Masi’s name as temporary director sounds strong and also generates controversy.
But Masi is unlikely to be called up for a temporary job. Wittich and Freitas were ‘signed’ this year after the FIA removed Masi from his race director
post in the wake of the Abu Dhabi GP controversy that closed last season.
After the controversial last race, Masi’s role as F1 race director was called into question, and personalities like Wolff would not agree with his return.
Scot Elkins, who served as an F1 deputy in the past, is also potentially available.
However, a more likely replacement is Herbie Blash, who was already Charlie Whiting’s deputy race director until 2014.
Lastly, veteran Colin Haywood, who was brought out of retirement earlier this year to replace Freitas, busy at WEC events, was already scheduled to fill a backup role during the Miami weekend.
Hamilton Responds to Criticism
So far this season, all eyes have been on Ferrari due to their strong performance.
But they have also focused on Lewis Hamilton, who has had a terrible start to the season, and it seems less and less likely that he can fight for the world championship.
Given the large amount of criticism that Hamilton himself has received, he has gone into the past to silence his critics.
“Working on my masterpiece, I will be the one to decide when it will be finished,” Hamilton wrote on his Instagram account.
After the Imola race, Hamilton mentioned, “There’s nowhere else I want to be. Just because we’ve been through a rough patch, it’s not in my DNA to back down.
We can fix this, it’s going to be a painful year, but we’ll get through this together.
And it is that Hamilton has received harsh criticism such as those issued by Helmut Marko, adviser to Red Bull, “Maybe he is thinking that he should have stopped last year!”. Marko told Sky Sports News.
Odds for the Event
Max Verstappen is the bookmakers’ favorite to win the event at +100, while Charles Leclerc is close behind at +120.
Sergio Perez is placed with +1200 and Carlos Sainz with +1600.
Verstappen has been quite inconsistent this season due to problems with his car. But it seems the team has finally managed to get the car ready and overcome the drawbacks.
Max dominated last weekend at Imola and secured pole position in Friday’s qualifying and Saturday’s sprint race, eventually winning in Sunday’s race.
For his part, Leclerc seems to be losing momentum, and Red Bull’s men close the gap.
In the Emilia Romagna GP, the French driver made a mistake that left him off the grid and cost him valuable points.
Sergio Perez is one of the drivers to watch; the Mexican has shown that he feels very comfortable with Red Bull and has two podiums this season, so he is a great candidate towin.
